I have been working summer camp jobs pretty much every single summer since I turned 15. I've been a summer camp counselor many time, but I've also worked as an assistant counselor, cook, sailing instructor, and in many other positions. I've worked in summer day camps and sleep away camps of every description, but the most challenging summer camp job I ever had was at a camp for at risk youth about a year ago.

Up until that point, all of the summer camp jobs that I had worked had been pretty easy. I would corral the students, organize activities, hand out discipline when it is needed, and generally act as a 24 hour babysitter for wealthy kids from the suburbs. Most of the time, they were fairly well behaved, and the stuff I would have to step in and deal with was pretty routine I would catch the kids sneaking smokes, getting into fights, or sneaking into the girls cabin every now and then. For the most part, I would be able to keep them out of trouble by telling them my philosophy of discipline. I would sit my campers down on the first day of my summer camp jobs and tell them that I did not want them to get into trouble and, if they did not break the rules in an obvious way, I would not not punish them. 9 times out of 10 the kids got it and kept whatever mischief they planned on the down low.

Working at a summer camp counselor job in a camp for at risk kids, however, was a different thing altogether. A lot of these kids had been getting into trouble for years, and they did things so dangerous that you could not really look the other way. I would have to be on my guard pretty much every moment, and that is no exaggeration. For the first couple of weeks, it was the hardest thing I had ever done.

With summer camp jobs as with any other field of human endeavor, sometimes the hardest tasks are the most rewarding ones. I spent the first few weeks regretting ever taking that summer job, but once I got used to it, I really saw the value. At most of the summer camp jobs I had worked in the past, the kids were just there looking to have a good time, but at this particular camp, there was a whole lot more to it than that. These campers were looking for a second chance and a way to make their lives better. As a summer camp counselor and role model, I could help make that happen. I couldn't get through to all of them, but I like to think I made a difference in at least a few lives.

Though there are some students who do not like to work during the school year or during their college semesters, many of them look for summer job opportunities. Teenagers may be looking for her way to save for college or perhaps for a new car, and college students may need help with their living expenses. Either way, there are many students who are looking for jobs during this time, and there are many great opportunities out there just for them. Sometimes, people want to take advantage of summer jobs as a second source of income when they are having problems making ends meet.

Many companies who pay minimum wage have summer job opportunities. This is because these jobs have such a high turnover rate that they always need extra help. The summer job opportunities wont pay very much, but they are a great way to make and save money if that is what you need to do. Sometimes the summer job opportunities can turn into full-time or part-time work during the school year if a student has time for it. Most students like to concentrate on their studies, but the reality of the world is that many times students need extra help paying for the high cost of college and living expenses.

Others summer job opportunities might be things like babysitting or tutoring. If you have a good head for academics, there may be parents out there who want their children to get some extra help during the summer months. There also a lot of parents who work and would like someone to be with their children during the summer while they are off from school. What these summer job opportunities pay will depend on how much you work and who is hiring you. Everyones rates will be different.

There are some summer job opportunities that will pay more money, but you might want to be careful about accepting them. Some of them are sales opportunities, and others are scams. I remember seeing fliers all over my town advertising summer job opportunities for students. These fliers said that the jobs pay twenty five dollars an hour. As it turned out, the jobs were nothing that anyone would want to do. In fact, though the jobs were legal, they were verging on being a scam operation. You might want to go the more traditional route when looking for great summer job opportunities.

More and more stay at home Moms are getting into part time jobs online. It can be an easy way to earn some extra cash, while still being able to look after the kids and keep the home fires burning. However, while there are legitimate websites offering part time jobs for Moms, you should know there are also plenty of scammers just looking to take your money, rather than providing real job leads. Here we offer some tips on finding the legitimate part time jobs for Moms and weeding out the scams.

1.When you do a Google search on 'part time jobs for moms', you'll get almost eight million results! It just stands to reason that if most of them were legitimate opportunities, anyone could easily find work online. Now conduct the same search with the word 'scams' preceding the original search string. You'll get about a quarter million results. Interestingly, you'll find companies proclaiming scam-free online job opportunities, which are little more than thinly disguised scams themselves!

Some may be in the form of a blog, with only one entry, describing how that individual lost hundreds or thousands of dollars in membership fees or kit purchases and how they are dedicated to helping you avoid the same result. The entry is often followed by several legitimate 'gems' they found and want to share with you. Beware of such sites, particularly when there's little or no other content.

2.When searching out those part time jobs for Moms, you'll find additional protection at mywot.com. This is free add-on software you can use on your browser. WOT is an acronym for 'web of trust'. It uses a green, orange and red safety rating system to alert you to a variety of sites which may spell trouble for you, addressing issues such as scams, viruses and sites deemed 'dangerous' or unreliable. Great tool! Why take a chance?

3.If you find a site that looks legitimate, be sure to Google 'scams company-name' before proceeding. Often people will post reports of their experience with a company on message boards and forums. If your chosen site comes up with some of these reports, read a few of them and then make your decision.

4.There are so many legitimate part time jobs for Moms online that are free, so if a site requires that you fork over a membership fee in order to actually see the details of any job opportunity, forget it and surf away to the next free site with listings!

5.You'll soon discover that you can (apparently) be paid to fill out surveys. Some sites actually have the audacity to say that you can make up to $200 per survey. These usually have a mile-long list of what you're required to do in order to 'participate', prior to getting paid, of course. These typically require purchases and involve a ton of spam in your email. Read the fine print! Carefully! Other scammers advertising part time jobs for Moms promise obviously ridiculous sums of money. Avoid the 'Make $800 a day in a couple of hours' style of offer.

Armed with the information outlined above, your search for an online, part time job will be safer and faster. Good luck, Mom!
